In order to ensure a successful and memorable celebration for everyone, the reunion committee would like to convey this important information about the event.

This will be a semi-formal dinner/dance event.
We realize that we are facing challenging economic times, however, we've done everything possible to keep the cost down. We must charge $75 per person to make it happen.

Sunday, June 21
Many classmates expressed a desire to have an informal family picnic. We will hold a pot-luck picnic at Lake Elizabeth in Fremont.

Details about the picnic will be e-mailed and also distributed at the reunion.

The night before the '81 reunion many of the guests attended the Jefferson football game under Madden Lights to see classmate Ako Poti in his role as assistant coach. Sally Rasmussen and Cedric Jenkins posed with Ako after the game.

Cedric stopped for a picture with Felecia Bell and then with former principal Ike McClanahan.

Nelson Chinchilla greeted Coach Greg Alvarado and then posed with Joe Caruso, '84,
John Morino (who would love to be a Jeff grad) and Ako.

Looking through my scrapbooks, I came across many pictures of the "after the game was over" dinners at our home. Many Friday nights we all gathered together for a little spaghetti and "stuff". I know we adults enjoyed it as much as you did.

Looking at the pictures is Ako Potti, Class of '83. Ako was on the coaching staff at Jeff last season.

Here are some action shots taken at the Burlingame win. Was that the game where Oscar kicked a field goal and the ball went over the fence, hit the train and was never found? We figured that it probably traveled to San Jose. And this is how legends began!!

Oh, that Oscar could kick -- must have been that soccer training. Oscar was inducted into the Jefferson Athletic Hall of Fame for both football and soccer. Joe "Baby Dumpling" Caruso is now with the DCPD and played on the team that won the first CCS Championship in 1983-84. He was big enough and tough enough to play with you guys as a sophomore.


The Indians won this game 52 to 24. Power on the line, and that little sophomore really could run. Tyreese Knox, '84 is a Hall of Famer both at Jefferson and San Mateo County.

Jefferson Athletes made a lot of headlines in 1981-82.
Sometimes an action shot photo was worth keeping in our archive.
